In Britain, as late as 1832, 220 separate crimes, including poaching and picking pockets, were punishable by death. Hangings were public cautionary spectacles and were covered by the newspapers. There are accounts of executioners—sometimes family and friends—pulling on the legs of young boys who were not heavy enough to be successfully hanged in order to add sufficient weight to strangle them.
That's said I sort of feel her eyes should be closed. It's been awhile since I read Past Sins, and as of now I'm holding off any further rereading for the revised copy, but as I recall Twilight kept her eyes mostly shut during these scenes to hide the eyes of the Nightmare's Blessing that Nexus was using to control her.
That little nit pick however in no way diminishes that as I first said, this pic is pure amazing.
I have no problem with gore but all the build up to this scene is creeping me out.
I love it dark pony stories but still something in me screams "ponies should not me sentenced to death."
Good thing i'm waiting for the reading of past sins to get finished. Time to get prepared for this.
